A Bourne company has opened what it hopes will be its first shop in a nationwide chain.

Freckleface Home Fragrance manufactures in Centurion Court, Roman Bank, and has just opened a store in Stamford.

Freckleface Home Fragrance is the brainchild of mum and son team Tara and Noah Carlile-Swift.

The business was formed three years ago when Noah was 13 and it began non the kitchen table.

Tara told Nub News: "We started as a hobby for Noah to learn about business. Now we stock more than 200 shops."

"We manufacture everything in Bourne. We have a workshop there and everything is made by hand. All our products are handmade and are vegan. We source locally as much as possible. We base everything on nature."

"This is our first store and we have opened in Stamford. We wanted to support the high street. We have plans to have stores around the country. We are hoping for a good few stores."

The venue is in Red Lion Square, where Murray Estate Agents used to be.

Tara continued: "Our business has continued through Covid. People wanted more home fragrances through Covid. It seemed the perfect opportunity when this location came up."

And reflecting the times, there was no red ribbon, no fanfare, no celebrity, just a quiet opening on Thursday, though trade has built up since.

For now, Tara is pleased is progress so far.

"Thank you to all the other businesses and people in Stamford for being so welcoming."

In the meantime, staffing is stepping up as the businesses continues to grow. Three jobs were created in the shop venture, adding to the ten employed in Bourne.

Tara added: "We are constantly recruiting."
